God this is just the worst trope. Hope her character doesn't show up much more. What a waste of a chapter

I don't understand why so many people think Tachibana is annoying. Yes she's unlikeable, but that's only because she does stuff like peeking on Noa changing. The obsessive nature and being super smug doesn't really matter because the target, Noa doesn't care at all. And Rihito is equally pained by Noa and Tachibana, but still sticks around because he thinks they're not that bad.

With all the hate I realized I often hate Tachibana's jealous lesbian trope but I didn't grasp right away why I didn't mind at all this chapter. She's bothered me a bit before, but she's never felt threatening.

She's too much of a loser, a failgirl, a cluster of three braincells for me to get uncomfortable. Nor do the protagonists. Much of the time the trope can be read in a bigoted way, at least a very lazy stereotype that gets more attention than more humanizing and relatable ways saphics are third wheeled. Tachibana is just too stupid this chapter, like a mouse running in circles. And Noa never budges from her clingy romantic yet asexual friendship with a peak aroace specimen.

Maybe I'm going easy on her since stalker lesbians can be so, so much worse. But I thought dumbass flailing was fun. This is gag comedy after all. The only threat is someone calling the cops on the creep, the besties will be fine.
speaking of peak aroace specimens I just realized how similar this is to Saiki K. Saiki has Aiura and Teruhashi pining for him, but is reluctantly friends, which is literally Rihito and Noa. And then Rifuta Imu is literally Tachibana who pines for Teruhashi.

i cannot imagine getting mad about a bit character in an episodic gag manga that exists to make fun of the trope she's based on because you don't like the trope being played straight
Because said trope has been done to death and people don't like it? Is that a hard concept to understand it's fairly simple. Just because you're making fun of a trope doesn't change the fact you're doing the trope anyway.
