I know the answer is obvious, but I can't help but wonder what the end-goal of the manga is supposed to be? Rhitio-kun is so established as a character as not wanting nor into relationships, that I can't possibly see it ever happening without it being out-of-left field decision for him.

If it is a romance manga, then I think the author did a bit too much hammering of that character. Why continually say that he has no interest whatsoever in the opposite sex? His entire shtick is anti-thetical to the progression of a romcom.

If it's supposed to be as on the name, and it's supposed to be an aversion of usual romance manga, then... that screws the audience, no? Unless, it's supposed to be mainly about her becoming a better person, but that isn't super focused upon (Rihitio-kun is the POV for a lot of the chapters, and he doesn't go out of his way to discourage these behaviors in a serious tone set by the manga), nor really established as the main plot?

It really does feel like it's stuck in this romcom setting, when it's trying to be more than that. Like it wants to explore other themes, but it can't because that's not what people are reading this for.

Does anyone know the tags for whatever manga this hosted on? I wonder if it even has the romance tag in the first place.

series is a know how to learn about Stockholm syndrome and see how Rihito slowly fall in love with his kidnapper (noa), because 100% rihito is slowly succumbint to her.

So her stance concerning Rihito is still the same from the first chapter (literally doesn't see him as a man or potential relationship prospect. Just selfishly wants him to give attention to her and ONLY her. He is just a source of attention and anxiety relief to her).

Her basicly saying, "i don't want him as a partner but i don't want him to find one either since that would mean less me time" is straight up bitch behaviour. Not a cute girl failure, not a haha funny menhera. Straight up bitch.

she's a walking red flag, like not only toxic in the level of badly poisoning, but in the combo with leech seed that makes poison go x8 in 2 turns

I think she devalues herself, so she doesn't see herself as a romantic option, and since Rihito is just generally nice, she assumes it's just par for the course for him, hence she shouldn't get her hopes up.
Couple that with having been dumped for being way too clingy all the time, she probably also equates going for lovers as something that makes her behavior a step too far, and friends is just enough to tolerate it.

Looking at comments it makes me feel some readers forgot/skipped previous chapters, because excessive claims that Noa is "oh sooooo toxic" and Rihito being "barely tolerating and soooo uninterested in her" feels kinda out of place after numerous chapters where we directly see Noa being genuinely positive presence in Rihito's like and him appreciating her as well. And after all this time to still think that Noa wants him as "just close friend" when she obviously just internally confused mess that is in denial due to her previous experiences and beliefs regarding romantic relationship. And since Rihito keep having more and more moments with Now that makes him think of her fondly and be glad she was around, not to mention that he isn't totally immune to her physical charms - and well, it's quite easy to see him translationing to actually having romantic feelings towards her. Doesn't mean he would act much different compared to how he acts now, they already look like a couple to outsiders.

Anyway I hope we would catch up with raws one day, because there is a lot of exciting stuff to look forward there 😌

She does devalue herself but I don’t think in the way you think:

• I think it's clear that Noa is very selfish. Her clingyness without a care of others feeling is what makes others leave her (friends/boyfriends). I think when she is unhappy about Rihito is nice to everyone, she is just envy that she is not special to him, not like she isn't good enough for him or not good enough as a romantic option for him.
• She doesn't see Rihito as love interest is likely: (1) Rihito is not the heart rob kinda guys that she thinks she likes, (2) she is in denial of liking someone else due to heartbreak. Mostly 2. In chapter with Negi, she actively denies that she like Rihito, not in a self-condecent way, but more like she doesn't even want it to happen, probably due to fear.

Without any context she seemed super toxic here, only saved by us knowing how she thinks and that she actually likes him but doesn't try anything due to previous experiences with love and seeing herself as not good enough (she is SO close to accepting it now, just needs a push like maybe someone aiming for Rihito). Tachibana ain’t the worst character ever but the fact that now she refers to our boi as a « sexual beast » kinda irks me : if it was the real world, that’s the kind of words that could start rumors and not the good kind.
