And I'm happy to see dear ol' pops taking Cliff to task for abandoning his duty. The loyal male lead who'll drop everything to run to the main character's aid is a typical romantic scene in a drama, but as a sworn knight of the royal family, it's not really acceptable. I suppose that, if the author's influence was still strong, the duke would be more sympathetic to Cliff's reasoning.
