Let him go chase a fake. Time to separate. Please writer, allow the mc to have a functioning brain.

Also, the horn that shehe is worried about, is it that zit at the top of her forehead (partially in her hairline, no less) that looks like it could be covered with a simple bedazzlement?! 😅Really?

I can't recall if they've shown a map in a previous chapter, and if this means that the sword is close or far...

"If the church doesn't have it, there's a chance I can summon it back"

Chekhov's gun has been placed on the mantle.

Also, it's much easier for people to conclude that the sword somehow picked a new owner than for the oni girl to be the reincarnated hero. Added bonus of "Why does the demon lord have the holy sword we're all going to die!" Once, you know, both of those flags pay off. :p

Haha love that little moment where he's sulking about not being popular back when he was the hero.

Although Al is supposedly strong, why did they just give away info about the holy sword, in public even? Although it chooses its owner, isn't it still supposed to be an important artifact?

Edit: After reading the next chapter and rereading this, I supposed the sword is already secured and displayed by the church so I guess it's public information.

I'm curious about what this story means by the sword only being able to be wielded by a Hero, cause I've seen 2 uses of the term in literature and they mean very different things.

1: Only the hero can wield the holy sword in that no one else can touch it, it burns them or weighs like several metric tons, something like that. Only the Hero can touch it.

2: Only the Hero can wield the holy sword in that it's just a metal stick for anyone else, in the hands of the Hero it's a true holy blade capable of smiting any foe, felling mountains and leveling trees but anyone else and it's unwieldy, off balance and awkward to use. However unlike option 1 any one can touch it and therefore move or even steal it.
