Kind of... hm. The ogres as a group are shown as cartoonishly evil, which seems like the worst of all worlds for the serious plot this seems to want to be. They should either be viscerally evil, or shades-of-grey, but not... this. The fuck are these supposed to be, and why does the author seem to want us to be sympathetic to a bunch of violent slavers?

Now, it could be the author is going to come waltzing in soon with the subtleties that make it make sense that the protagonist chose to want to blend in with and help these people. But I'm not feeling very optimistic...
