I can't tell, but it definitely seems like it's partially a revenge series. First off, the fact that her face was so ruined they couldn't recognize her properly means she's likely alive (also the ending scene). I think it's going to mostly hinge on everything falling apart on its own since everyone is incompetent, but that's part of her revenge ultimately.

He doesn't jumping ship but going to inform her father about how f up everything and try to persuade to stop wasting money, he still head of a family after all. We will see that in chapter 3 (if it will be translated).

She unconscious for other reason. We should see glimpses of it at the end of chapter 5. There was unfinished business outside of capital, she ended up staying here. Maid should be the one to inform about but...

Simple envy. She dreamed about prince as a kid but a reality shown big NO (already engaged). Thanks to second wife family she somehow became maid. She became disappointed/disillusioned of prince's fiance, her stoicism and frugal life (due to family).
