The guy, Kanaoka Takuma, and his girlfriend, Mizuho Akishima, are the last remaining members of the group the MC plans to take revenge on. To refresh your memory, they’re the first characters to appear in chapter 1, having sex in an empty classroom while the MC guards the door.
At the adjacent table, Akagi (Mitsuru’s rape buddy and the one who probably has a contract with the other demon) and Sawada-sensei are listening to the conversation.

I'm wondering if the hanging guy is someone connected to Akagi, or maybe Akagi himself. In chapter 36, when Toshi called Mitsuru to tell him he’d kidnapped Imai, Mitsuru said he wasn’t going to 'trade' Azusa for Imai just yet. Then Toshi asked if Mitsuru could 'give' him Akishima, but Mitsuru, terrified of Kanaoka, vehemently refused. So now I’m wondering if Akagi is seeking revenge against Kanaoka specifically.

Once again, direct contact with Azusa was suggested, but handwaved away. The story would contort itself in new and interesting ways just to avoid having the two main victims of this from speaking to each other.

Asmode would never allow that to happen because that would get in the way of recovering her powers, she s the one benefiting the most from pushing them apart

Which is crazy because we now know that there's another "predator" in the mix, and Azusa is their next "prey".
Like, why let the enemy just make their moves, instead of denying them a piece they can use?

It's not clear whether Asmode is aware about Azusa being the next target.
Additionally, all of this would only result in motivating the mc for more and more ntr revenge which is what Asmode mostly cares about

Chapter 62 - Retribution
The chapter opens with Asuka waiting outside the prison where Mitsuru is being held, a suitcase by her side. Inside, Mitsuru meets his mother through a glass partition, with a jailer seated at a table beside him. His mother looks terrible.
Mitsuru: “Well... I’m sorry.”
Mom: "Mitsuru, I’m going to change my last name because I’m getting a divorce."
Mitsuru: "Oh... I see... Playing the father card... But when things get tough, the bastard just runs away. That shows that, after all, someone like him couldn’t be trusted."
Mom: "... Look who’s talking—"
Mitsuru: "Oh, right! And Asuka? What happened with Asuka’s injury?"
Mom: "Your father... that person... says he’s going to demand compensation."
Mitsuru: "HUH? W-... WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN!? W-... WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE WANTS TO CHARGE SOMETHING? HE SHOULD BE THE ONE PAYING, AS A GUARDIAN! JUST BECAUSE YOU GOT DIVORCED DOESN’T MEAN HE HAS NO RESPONSIBILITY IN THIS!"
Mom: "They say that, since you’re already an adult, the parents aren’t obligated to pay any compensation... That’s what the lawyer said."
Mitsuru stands up.
Mitsuru: "THEN WHY THE HELL IS HE DEMANDING COMPENSATION? I DON’T GET IT."
Jailer: "SIT DOWN!"
Mitsuru takes a seat.
Mitsuru: "TCH..."
Mom: "That girl you assaulted, Imai-san... she’s that man’s daughter."
Mitsuru: "...the daughter of that bastard of a father?"
Mom: "He had divorced, and custody was with his ex-wife... But when she passed away, he said he wanted to take her in. And I was the one who opposed it..."
Mitsuru: "I-... I had no idea—"
Mom: "Whether you knew or not, it doesn’t change anything. Probably... I won’t be able to come see you anymore. There’s no place for me or Asuka here anymore. We’re leaving this place. I plan to ask some distant relatives for help."
Mitsuru: "M-... Mom... Huh? Distant...? And... me?"
Mom: "You... You’re not... I wish... I’d never given birth to you."

What will happen now that the only, ONLY reason the protagonist started all this is now in jail? Will they go back to using the trusty old "milkmaid childhood friend" so the protagonist can face a criminal organization? Who knows...
