I think it should appear in the next chapters, since the protagonist and this guy are after the same girl now, and it seems that for now nothing will happen with the childhood friend.

The most neutral message ever and he think she felt relieved.
It's uncanny to see him go happy when he was so inefficient during the time she was abducted and recently he can't even go to talk to Azusa parents for whatever reason. It's disturbing.
Anyway, she's broken and the last blow for her has been when she has witnessed mc and Asuka kissing a bit before to put in action the plan to save her ( ) and considered it was normal afterward, since she think she's too filthy for him (well, broken as she is). And now, as you said, she'll be slowly under Akagi influence (well won't be too hard, she see him as a good guy since he's the first one to treat her well...).

And now there is a race for another slave. Damn, just rename into slave collector or something.
