Do you want do give more food to every one? Just kill part of the population. It's worked for the URSS and for Thanos.

this manga is so awesome. it's so wholesome and not some cynical satire

like, it might be satire for sure, but this chapter shows the author has a legitimate understanding and sympathy for socialist ideologies. (while still showing where authoritarian tankie ideals can lead a country)

now all Myao has to do is step down as dictator and form a democratic worker's council with her secretaries, which is what they already sorta have anyway

>just barely have enough rations
>don't have to worry about starving

@JohnJRenns
This chapter shows the inevitability of capitalism filling the void left by socialism.

@marcopolonian yeah of course! because in a capitalist economy, the free market redistributes surplus foodstuffs perfectly efficiently. people never have to worry about putting food on the table, or have to live paycheck to paycheck. when people are starving in a socialist economy, bam, capitalism can just fill that void and feed everybody. i should've paid attention in that econ 101 class, huh

(to be perfectly clear and stop the sarcasm for a second, what's shown in this chapter is horrifying and tankie ML-ism is very bad)

You can see the free market, in other words capitalism, taking action to redistribute surplus food efficiently in these two chapters (the woman charges money to compensate for her labor and resources in cooking a meal). The only difference is that in a socialist command economy like the one portrayed in these two chapters, doing so is illegal, reducing its efficiency.

By "the free market taking action", this simply means "individuals acting at their own behest" in acting as economic agents. A democratic worker's council doesn't have the complete knowledge of the situation that every individual economic actor has, and thus makes plans resulting in inefficient distribution of food. A democratic worker's council is also not incentivized to make every penny count when they make decisions with the People's money, as opposed to when the people make decisions with their own money.

Kinda remind me of the Renovation era in Vietnam.Before the introduction of the market economy model, us Vietnamese was following a strict command economy like any other socialist countries except for China,we were still using food stamp for rationing,and the people were truly suffered from food shortages.But luckily the Government starting to reform,and the whole food rationing was over.

Our Glorious General Myao will work hard to do socialism better, and make Marx-sensei and Engels-senpai's dream real.
