He appears to still be uploading them on Batoto's other mirrors. Amongst them, bato.si still works, though with random pages missing at times.
Otherwise, he does upload to The Internet Archive whenever he completes an entire volume.

Lmao, the stinging sensation on your lips from chili or other spicy stuff is pretty nice, unlike the probably explosive diarrhea from them.

Since even a "basic" mentaiko uses chili peppers, I'd call that spicy too 😭😭 I am spice intolerant, even the smallest amount of chili pepper or chili powder is unbearable for me.

I thought fishermen throw pregnant fish back to the sea or was it something else?

I'm going to assume by 'pregnant', you mean 'carrying eggs', since fish are largely oviparous and do not get pregnant in the traditional sense.

I believe it's a hobbyist fisherman thing to return fish to the water if they happen to be carrying eggs. Otherwise, at a commercial scale, this sort of distinction is impractical to carry out. Furthermore, there are many fish species where the eggs are also consumed as a delicacy, so a fish that's carrying eggs would actually be desirable, such as the pollock/mentaiko we see in this chapter.

Thanks for the great translation and translator notes as always, the big TIL for me was the Korean origins for the etymology of mentai!

Makes one appreciate further the connection in pronunciation/kanji between Chinese, Korean and Japanese.
