My embarassing dish? Well, plain rice, fried chicken or fish..and then put ketchup and soy sauce on the rice and mix. Look, you try and have a good meal when you're broke!

I usually go with just some hot rice with sweet soy sauce or Asian-style sambal as an embarrassing dish.

Screams poverty and shame, yes, but a man has to eat nonetheless.

My embarassing dish (what I think would translate to struggle meal) is prob rice with leftover ramen seasoning packets. Sometimes I use the noodles for stuff like hot pot or spicy rice cakes (tteokbokki) so thats how I use the unused packets.

Embarrassing dish? I think the one I mentioned before can be considered one I guess, since not many people like it.

Love butter rice, the soy sauce is a no though. If the butter is too bland I just add salt, the savoury element from the soy sauce ruins the butter flavour for me.

I like putting noodles on toast. Not yakisoba-pan, like boil and ready noodles. Thatd prob be my embarassing dish.

Oh, right. I do season them with soysauce or salt or other things. Im not doing plain noodles on plain bread.

Also after all the lovedrama recently, its nice to see one of the contests back, I adore these.

I have a few. The most embarrassing one I guess is I like to take two Eggo waffles and put them in the toaster and then spread peanut butter on one and Nutella on the other and make them into a sandwich.

Interesting, cus I like a few drops of soy sauce on buttery spaghetti.

I feel it cuts through with a salty touch.
Everyones different, ofcourse.

Forgot to mention in the previous comment, but similar to how that guy likes rice with Worcestershire sauce, I like ketchup rice.
Just ketchup and rice, maybe some salt again to cut the sourness. Sometimes I add cheese and heat it until melted, and call it "pizza rice".

Soy sauce just inherently carries its own flavour and not just salty, so it changes how the food taste.
I don't dislike soy sauce, but when I eat "butter rice" I'm looking for just that rice and butter taste. Maybe sear the rice a bit in a pan or brown up the butter for some variation, but nothing else aside from salt. Not even pepper, because pepper is not just a spicy zing, it has a flavour too.

my worst one is probably hot short grain/glutinous white rice with concentrated lemon juice over it.

rice with soy sauce and a drizzle of sesame oil is also good, but that’s more normal.

it’s too bad Oishinbo went on hiatus before we could have the Girl Dinner chapter

Don't know if I'd call this embarrassing but I made tuna mayo and ate it with Korean seaweed "rolls", basically rolling up the tuna in the seaweed. It was pretty good.
