Glad to see Yamaoka finally realizing that he may have feelings for Kurita, despite his previous statements before!

And while I think Kinjo is a selfish one for thinking that he now has all the chance to win Kurita, I think he's more tolerable than Dan in any way (or maybe that's just because I hate scummy, rich people).

I imagine the author can't let his chosen couple gets foiled by any love rival, also the fact that Yamaoka when smashed drunk can tell what's wrong with the food REALLY tells you how bad the chef is, dude was in a breakdown because of one big name food critic, the fact that his confidence is really hubris

I think in-universe, the sushi's taste is "alright" for most people (though obviously flawed, like Yuzan and Yamaoka said), which is only made worse by Kinjo overselling it because it's his friend who made it.

Not helping the case is that Kinjo is just some bloke without any God Tongue like Yamaoka and Kurita, nor any extensive culinary experience that could've trained his sense of taste, so he can only realize a flaw or two unless he tastes something better / someone else points it out to him.

I think I was a lot more tolerant toward Kinjo because he seemed to come by his feelings for Kurita more honestly than Dan, without trying to be underhanded, but it seems based on this chapter, he's increasingly willing to resort to those sorts of tactics.

Serves him right for getting Yamaoka excited about the food and making him go away like that. Should've picked a better way to do it LOL.

Random TL addition: In the panel after Kaibara shows up at the place, the toothpicks Yamaoka was playing with spells アホ "aho" (stupid/dumbass) LOL.

I think I was a lot more tolerant toward Kinjo because he seemed to come by his feelings for Kurita more honestly than Dan, without trying to be underhanded, but it seems based on this chapter, he's increasingly willing to resort to those sorts of tactics.

It's unfortunate that by thinking that Yamaoka has "permitted" him to aim for Kurita without any obstacle, Kinjo feels he's now entitled to do everything to win her love.

A shame, because I can actually see myself being good drinking and hanging out buddies with Kinjo, while I'll just keep a professional distance with Dan, and no more than that.

Considering his luck with women and the surprising revelation that he doesn't want to get married because of his childhood trauma, I can see him being slow in understanding that Kurita may have feelings for him and vice versa.

At least it's a relief knowing that Yamaoka finally starts to learn how to pick up the pace when it comes to romantic affairs.

Forgot to mention earlier, but I am very curious what the salt problem is. Like I figure it's probably blah blah supermarket cheap salt that's not natural sea-salt, but I don't know what the difference would've been.
