My guess is that Yamaoka will say the california rice is too high quality so it doesn't have the distinctive characteristic of japanese rice

Always so annoying when Kariya gets preachy. Bro is so poorly-informed about a lot of things so I just auto-distrust any of his claims about serious stuff such as politics and whatnot.
Again, like bro doesn't even live in Japan. Does he actually have the decency to go to Japan an interview people about their opinions on this? Because otherwise talking from his high horse about Japanese culture this that and everything, while not even living the day to day life of the average Japanese person, seems pretty bullshit to me.
Like surely at least he has to go back to Japan every now and then to do the actual research on food because back then the internet is not all that great yet.
