If your country have a problem with gender stereotypes then don't just accept it as norm. At least try to change it. 
I've seen this many times in Japan and how it's happening silently. From train transportation to public park and even shopping mall.
Nowadays people can't afford to start a family in Japan, but I can see a future in Japan where people don't even want to talk to people of opposite gender. 
Am I too harsh? Maybe I should not watching those documentary videos too much. But as of now, it's just annoying.
