I love that full page panel of chat exploding. And then watching her wrangle chat into something she's a bit more comfortable with, with chat beginning to mirror some of her speech patterns. Fun so far. I also eagerly anticipate Shadow Wolf getting out of the hospital. As they both frequent the lower level, I'm curious if they'll cross paths again, or if he'll try to track her down.

this part made ABSOLUTELY ZERO sense to me, like isn't this japan? why in the fuck are they sperging out about her being inspired over a anime character and wanting to pretend to be like her IRL??????? Legit made me think I was on twitter for a second and its even weirder they glossed over it? so Insert some crazy NEGATIVE reaction but lets also ignore it??????????
It's because she thought the actor (assuming) was a real dungeon solver while all the viewers know it was a scripted show

This needs anime ASAP.
Also the translation is good so far.
Translation seems decent except for the "herbs" part.

Having watched vtubers for so long I know that "grass" and "herbs" in this context basically means lmao. Japanese streN chats often type wwww same way we would do lololol. And since www looks like grass is growing they would instead pur the kanji for herbs. Its read "kusa", means grass and in this context translates to "lmao/lol" while "wwww" is "hahaha/lol"

I think that's a normal reaction, no? It's as if one watches a Superman Movie as a child and then as a high schooler goes around town in a superhero costume trying to stop some thieves or something like that. You would think that person is strange and even in Japan people probably think that someone with chuunibyou is strange.
And it's not about going dungeon diving because of the anime, it's about wearing a dress which is impractical.
It's even more explicit because she apparently isn't wearing any armor whatsoever and is in the lower floors. Where she is oneshotting enemies and beat up another streamer who apparently goes to the floors regularly. So to draw an even clearer picture; it's like a child watched a superman movie then as a high schooler decided to put on a superman onesy to take on the whole entirety of the United States military with one arm tied behind there back and is just dominating the whole skirmish.

So, like Kickass then? But if he actually had the skills to back himself up

Your information isn't wrong, but the lines are very much saying 'herb' (おハーブ) in the raw, it's not 'kusa' (草) being translated as herbs. It's meant to be a more refined-like way of saying weed/grass, to play along the ojou-sama-like speech.

This is also a good explanation for why "herbs" is a bad translation: without the additional context the literal translation becomes just meaningless gibberish.

But I'm not sure what would be a good translation. Maybe some acronym like "lol" or "lmao" that describes laughing in an ojou-sama/elegant way.

Ah cool info.
Itd be really nice to have translater notes on stuff like that. I only got half of the joke cause i watch vtubers a lot, someone without that context would miss it completely and just be confused at the random "herbs" comments.
Frankly it looks like a bad machine tl without notes at the end

I was also confused by this. And to the other comments, she's not just running around pretending to be an anime character, she's doing a cosplay stream basically. Like it's explicitly a character she's doing for the broadcast. I get the dress is impractical for dungeon crawling, that is the joke, but the premise is fine, it's a gimmick stream.

Yea some dude tried giving me info saying "she thought the actor (assuming) was a real dungeon solver while all the viewers know it was a scripted show" and I'm like ????????? she was watching anime tho and everyone knows that isn't REAL, heck even the people complaining in the picture said "This is the toxic influence of anime" hence yea that reaction is REALLY bad and makes zero sense......

I swear the MORE I read of this series the more I think that everyone in this series is Trash except for poor MC and her genius childhood friend, I actually feel bad for them 2 :aquadrink:
