I don’t remember who Meguru is. And this may be the ravings of a madman. And I’m also hazy on some stuff but I’m pretty sure there’s another great ghost that has yet to be revealed? That being said, my running theory is that the hidden ghost is always shown one way or another. Either a tiny little Easter egg like usual, or her actual figure. Last chapter, as far as I know, there was no hidden face. But there was a panel of a memory of two shadowed figures. This chapter, once again as far as I can tell, the ghost is not hidden. But we do see Meguru, the only new person on top of a lack of hidden ghost. THEREFORE. Meguru is now prime sus

Could be that Ryou has an ancestor that was Okiku’s “lover” that she keeps getting flashbacks to and they’re the last ghost. Series might end with Meguru fusing with Okiku and Ryou with her ancestor and everything comes full circle. puts on tinfoil hat

if I think about related tropes I've seen in the past involving a ghost and an alive third party that are both love interests, it's gonna end up with the possession of Meguru by Okiku in a poly timeshare thing or that the Meguru is the partial reincarnation of Okiku and they merge together in the end.

I hope Okiku merged with Meguru. Especially because we never have this kind of trope before.

IIRC there are only 3 "great ghosts" who are all related to vengeance, there is some unknown ghost that is targeting her but the 3 greats have no clue who or what they are as she seems capable of possessing other ghosts and blocking the ability to see her when looking into the future

also this chapter specifies that she attracts all kinds of spiritual entitles but ones that take human form are more dangerous so the easter egg ghost girl might not even be a ghost girl but something else hiding in human form

I assume Meguru is the reincarnation of Okiku and Ryouyo is the reincarnation of Okiku's lover. Hence why Ryouyo has dreams about Okiku's past, and probably why Okiku showed up to save Ryouyo as a child. It was actually Okiku as Meguru. I'm assuming the ending will be Meguru reuniting with Ryouyo, which will double as a reunion between Okiku and her past lover. They'll essentially be treated as the same couple through different periods of time. Kind of like Kannazuki no Miko.
