I was going to say the exact same things. I already knew they'd let her stay. But I was REALLY hoping it would be different. I've seen WAY TOO MANY of these to where this kind of plot just doesn't cut it anymore. Even though the characters are adults, this story's target audience must be middle schoolers or around that age bracket.
[Mini Rant]
When I see stories unfold like this, t's just not satisfying to read. I'm all for a light reading, but I'm OVER these highly cliche stories that are so predictable and bland because they all unfold in the same cookie cutter way. It just makes the whole thing seem childish and simple instead of light. This is why I try to steer clear of stories where it seems like the leads getting together is the end goal, because that means the author might pull out every single cliche road block to lengthen the story. I'm trying not to be too critical, cuz I sure haven't published any stories, but you mean to tell me that the author couldn't come up with a more innovative way to bring the two leads together? ....when pulling from life and pure imagination??
HELL, there are better stories in real life on people's social media pages cuz ppl post EVERYTHING (good and bad).
Anywho, I'm going to see how Xun handles this. Next chapter might be my last.
