Ulterior motives are a pretty normal part of getting to know people, and I personally think that unless you're using someone in a narcissistic way, there's nothing to be ashamed of. It's kinda insane to expect other people to blurt out all their desires and intentions towards you, and you shouldn't hold yourself to such a saint-like standard.

If anything, the appearance correction is the worst part. It didn't just make him handsome now, it retroactively changed his appearance in the memories of everyone he knows. Now he's never going to be able to have a relationship with anyone knowing that they love and accept everything about him because they literally can't know what he actually looks like, just the fake appearance given to him by the game system. THAT'S a tortured existence.

Or so where it’s like “I was fat growing up and briefly skinny for two years bc of an illness, gained weight again and everyone (parents) was nicer to me remembering the brief period that I was skinny instead of loving me unconditionally from the start “

I doubt it’d go that way bc these kinda artists rarely do so outside of comic relief but I wonder if he somehow was around the “gay district” /city and there would be dialogue from thirsty guys too (while things are probably “better” than it was 20 years ago I wouldn’t be surprised if some ppl still went after “curious” straight ppl for one night stands/flings as opposed to a “real” relationship but that’s a whole nother story

I grew up watching my dad get fat shamed by my mom and since then, I and my sibling have been fat shamed by her regardless of fat or skinny we are. Fat phobia is especially harsh in families because of its association with health and the way many people think that such criticism is helping make you healthier.

At the end of the day tho, whether it's family or anyone else, unless your relationship is already based on a foundation of unconditional love, the sad reality is that yeah, superficial beauty is going to HEAVILY effect how people treat you.

It's not that it's dedicated for suicide... It's just that the forest is so big if you end yourself or get lost in there, you might never be found until it's too late.

Since it was proven that suiciding there means no disruption from anyone, it has become a rather popular spot for suicide...

Unfortunately, there are a metric ton of examples where this applies all around the world. Won't be fixed until human society as a whole collectively agree and realize that those (loud and bullying) with fame, riches, and/or positions of power tend to be the ones with severe mental issues. Except "it's okay because fame, riches, and/or positions of power", thus it "isn't" a problem, according to those same people who have larger societal sway.

At least the Pauls are banned from Japan if I remember correctly.

Pretty sure after the youtube thing you mentioned, there were at least a few manga works directly mentioning Aokigahara. I remember some really weird one (pretty sure it was a hentai?) that literally started with a couple staring at a hanging corpse in said forest...
