Didn't know this webcomic also got affected by the purge. I thought the original webcomic isn't licensed by any publisher, or is it :thonk:
Regardless if it's licensed by a publisher or the webcomic being free to be read by anyone online, copyright still protects it from being published anywhere else without permission. At least that's my understanding.

So I want to start reading the manga since OPM S3 is basically a slide-show.
Is the web-comic different from the ongoing manga? How are they different?

ONE doesn't disappoint.
Let me see if I got things right:

Bofoi and Child Emperor work together to build an AI.
They eventually abandon the project.
Kuseno steals this incomplete AI and uses it to make Drive Knight.
All the other evil robots are based on Drive Knight.
Bofoi eventually completed the original AI on his own. (as mentioned last chapter, though he said it would still need to be trained)

Which means we might still get to see the completed-AI in action this arc. Or perhaps something tragic will happen to Genos, and this AI will be the solution for him to regain his peace.
I imagine that even if Kuseno's whereabout are finally revealed, it won't just be easy to storm in and get him. And since he's supposedly so evil and intelligent, the barriers won't just be firepower, because we already got the moment of Saitama trivializing the supposed boss of the arc.

I was sure Genos would actually lose control and kill Bofoy right there, he is having a mental breakdown right now but still managed to fight the impulse, unlike Drive knight who couldn't think for himself (Saitama did a good job eliminating him right away, if by chance, after copying Saitama he starts getting stronger and stronger like Garou, it would've been terrible).
I dread the moment Genos falls for the dark side because it will most likely be by deception and tampering his brain and it will hurt a lot to see it.

Well for the monster association arc if differs considerably, the manga, and by extension the anime, expands the enemies threats (the number of executives is small in the webcomic) and several interactions, and how they handle the conclusion with Garou, which the Murata version has an awful number of redraw chapters until their final volume releases. The webcomic is more straightforward, focused...

Manga is a redrawn version by Murata. Great art but it started having more differences during the monster association arc. I dropped it at the end of the art so it might have improved again but basically one of the most obvious things is a focus shift to having cool looking fights. Fights got longer and changed, new fights got added. It was a bit of a chore to get through the arc.

This version is the original and imo the better one. But the manga does have some sweet art so reading part of it might be worth it.
