You're right. A "Pinocchio" scenario could be possible. Could be Kuseno testing if adding a human element to the AI would make for a better soldier. Genos also becoming more human as he spends more time with Saitama and learning to be a true hero, instead on focusing on revenge whether his backstory is true or not can also support that theory.

I can't recall where, but I recall that Genos still has his human brain though... but we also can't confirm that until he opens his head. If he has a robobrain all along then it becomes a (HUGE SPOILER FOR ANOTHER SERIES) Battle Angel Alita situation instead.

Since we only really have Genos/Kuseno's word (i don't remember who said it) I think the likely scenario is that he's got a robo brain, especially with how he was acting in this chapter. I think the manufactured backstory, combined with Kuseno acting as a surrogate father, then faking his death, was meant to help him overcome the barrier that prevents the AI from harming humans.

That said it might be more of a Ghost in the Shell Cyberbrain situation, where the original tissue is highly modified by an implant, since Bofoi and Child Emperor were discussing a similar implant meant to push a human's intelligence beyond the limits a few chapters ago.

Is the web-comic different from the ongoing manga? How are they different?
The premise and story themes of the web comic is far more focused and concentrates deeply on the struggles of the characters' inner turmoil whilst maintaining an air of humour about everything. Murata's version of the other hand is focused more action, world building and the melodramatic relationship between the characters. Murata's shounen-y approach is worth reading just for the art, though it seems silly for Murata concentrates so much on world-building while ONE actively makes fun of it

Imo the reason is the overall plot. You can make a story better, but at some point you have to deviate from the original. But it is always coming back to it, deviates again, but gets back to the original. Imo this just doesnt work.
I think it's more specifically the stuff murata adds to the story doesn't even remotely fit the theme. It's always entirely concentrated on the inner turmoils of the characters, such as "how to balance work and hobbies", "passion for what you do", and now "what is justice". Murata on the other hand makes a whole world building thing about a hp hovercraft god and melodramatic thing between two characters (blast and that ninja dude) that don't exist in the original. It's really silly because of the efforts ONE has made in emphasising that the world building is a big gag or just a spoon for the plot soup. Like with that whole chapter where handsome mask boringly explains the plot to saitama and saitama ending the chapter with punchline of "i didn't listen". Or that other chapter where saitama revives the demon king to kill him. World building is just a gag, and murata concentrates so much on it, really loses focus on what one punch man really is about

Bofoi survived!
Also aww man, sadly the gimmick of copying Saitama is already used in the manga one.

The king bio data gag was just... perfection, in execution and timing, I laughed so hard I actually woke up my dog, 0 notes 10/10
Also the twist with genos backstory was kinda of obvious? so I'm expecting another one, or at least for ONE to remix it on an interesting way

After re-read the chapter I realized Genos started acting strange when Dr.Bofoy mentioned that he pinpointed Dr. Kuseno's location and the brainwashing intensify when Dr.Bofoy said that Kuseno is alive and is the mastermind behind it all. Genos was about to give in to the brainwashing and try to kill Dr.Bofoy but regained himself after seeing Saitama and ran away.

One's writing is really good.

In a way, Genos really learn from Saitama how to be a true hero instead of just be a brainwashed pawn for the evil scientist Kuseno. Saitama did not teach Genos how to be stronger but his actions moved Genos to be able to gain real freedom to choose his own justice.

Great chapter, amazing as always ONE. Fuck Murata.

So yeah, Bofoi really is not evil, just an untrustworthy unhelpful cunt. And Kuseno is really stupid to go through with his plan after becoming closely acquainted with Saitama and seeing his power over and over.
theyre both confirmed to be written by ONE, you disliking his retcon attemps or getting triggered at fubukis design enough you made the artist a boogeyman wont ever change that, cope and seethe, tourist poser redditor

ONE doesn't disappoint.
Let me see if I got things right:

Bofoi and Child Emperor work together to build an AI.
They eventually abandon the project.
Kuseno steals this incomplete AI and uses it to make Drive Knight.
All the other evil robots are based on Drive Knight.
Bofoi eventually completed the original AI on his own. (as mentioned last chapter, though he said it would still need to be trained)

Which means we might still get to see the completed-AI in action this arc. Or perhaps something tragic will happen to Genos, and this AI will be the solution for him to regain his peace.
I imagine that even if Kuseno's whereabout are finally revealed, it won't just be easy to storm in and get him. And since he's supposedly so evil and intelligent, the barriers won't just be firepower, because we already got the moment of Saitama trivializing the supposed boss of the arc.
maybe the present kuseno is the original ai :haa: :haa: AIception

One must, genuinely, be a fucking idiot if they think the manga is written by ONE nowadays. It shares absolutely NOTHING of ONE's writing style. Also, that was never confirmed. In the first place the whole "story by ONE" is a mistranslation.

Thanks for the chapter
Seems like genos ran away to go fight Saitama? Or he might be looking for the real kuseno, would be interesting to see them fight, another way this could go is the whole gang goes to confront kuseno but due to the realization all his memories were made up genos would shut down due to the mental overlord (if his brain is still human).
Anyways there is this very interesting line from the cd audio drama A Festival With Saitama

From A Festival With Saitama said:
I do have memories of coming to a festival when I was very young with my family, but I am not sure if that memory is real or not.

Genos' memory being made up has been foreshadowed 9 years in advance peak writing as always o7

When have I said a single word about the art and designs, retard? The writing is shit and obviously not ONE. The evidence is overwhelming and only keeps accumulating, to go against that is pure ignorant denial and cope.

Also maybe check if I really am a redditor before using the greatest insult known to man. It's a good thing I have all the evidence for your retardation I need right in front of me and not insulting you incorrectly, retard.

You would think an Advanced AI would come to the logical conclusion that King is not as strong as people think he is.

there is no difference in overall quality opm manga takes the webcomic and expands it to be more then it originally was ( including new characters and allows the characters to be more then what thy were in WC the changes dont make it worse then the webcomic ) cosmic garou isnt worse then wc garou garou having a different ending isnt bad

Oh, sure, having more fluff characters and empty but flashy fights sure adds a lot to the story.

So what if Garou's got all of his autonomy taken away by God and wasn't forced to view the error of his way by Saitama? We got a super cool fight! A planet exploded and we did time travel!

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH, whatever, I'm not having this stupid conversation again. Manga is shit, like it if you want.
