If this was the father's doing, it was unusually well played. And Suzu is an adorable dunce.

First chapter of the fourth volume (of five). Pardon my pace, or lack of it. I spent most of January with bronchitis.

On another note, I have the first two volumes of a new series this mangaka is doing. He has apparently decided to maintain the tradition of panty shots on the inside cover...

I forgot that he was born smelling to women like he hadn't showered in weeks and didn't even think of what that meant for going public places. That scene got some sympathy from me there.

In defense of his old friends, it HAS been some time since he began living there with absolutely no signal, so after a few weeks without any possibility of contacting him, they should've given up on trying to contact him daily.

@VladDracul2 I think the implication is that he didnt have many missed calls either, those would have showed once he got back in reception no?

I'm curious when the girls are going to find out that Yuu has leg fetish. 😏

@Firefly, I'd agree with you on that. But more to the point, if you have no signal for 6 months, the phone may not be that useful to you anymore, apart from playing some games. Did he even take it with him? Since there is no point in having it with you at all time.

By logic at that last panel it should have been "F*** I have forgotten about my phone!"

@kiwifb - The actual text leaves the subject unstated, as is common in Japanese. The previous statement by Kasumi was "電話しいへんかったん…?", which is a heavily Kansai version of "Denwa shinakatta?" which can be translated as "Nobody called?" (I may be wrong in this). That makes the topic "phone call". What Yuu then thinks is even more bare bones: "マジかよ俺…" and "忘れ…てた", which literally translates to "Seriously, I..." and "was forgotten." But to complicate matters, "phone call" can also be taken as "telephone", and the way that Yuu's thoughts are phrased, he wasn't necessarily thinking of himself as the topic.

Bottom line: you could be right. The next chapter starts with Yuu confronting his father, and what they say may clarify matters.

This really is one of the few series where a harem ending makes practical sense. However, won't the village still run into a problem from a lack of genetic diversity, as well as declining population due to some being "unchosen"? Unless Yokai are different in those regards... I mean, we already have examples of Yokai spontaneously existing from gaining sentience, such as Miku and Suzu. I also highly doubt Yuu's Grandfather is responsible for creating all the younger generation, right? Though, they did say there hasn't been any males in 100+ years, right?
Whatever... Overthinking it just makes it more complicated and I'll just end up with more questions than answers.
