Wtf! 12th grade (at least in my country) is the second-last year, it's way late.

2nd year middle school in Japan coincides (partially) with our 1st year of high school, so is not so weird.

What's more shitty was that you could skip it all for board certification exam. The questions from probability would come with alternate options from another other topic. You would need it for college entrance exams but only in selective places. There was tiny bit of it to begin with. A little bit of Bayes was the upper limit of difficulty.

It's a lot easier to get physical copies of ero stuff in Japan. You can go to a nearby bookstore or take a train to one in a city if you're farther out. 18+ sections aren't ubiquitous, but not hard-to-find. Whereas in the US, you'd have to drive and look around for a store that specializes in those goods & it's probably located in some questionable part of town.

Same here as well. it's pretty hard to find obscure stuff in my country, I've been transfered to 3 places and never seen the stuff for sale officially. (only by street vendors)
