It's amazing how princesses are glorified so much, and yet in practice they're just pretty caged birds serving as political tools for their families. In many stories commoners look up to them for having privileges and wealth, but following real-world traditions they're effectively prisoners who have their fates decided for them by others. Being a princess is often shittier than fairy tales and movies would have you believe.
Arienoora here isn't very far off from the fates of many princesses in real-world history, since they were almost always married off to some noble they've never met for political reasons, without their own say. Sometimes even married off to their own uncles...
