Those centuries ago, he did all those horrible things to his daughter just because he's an insecure little nobody that was outclassed by pretty much everyone, especially by women(which is the part that he ACTUALLY takes issue with). He took all the spells that his gifted genius of a daughter created while bored, and passed it off as his own.

After he shifted the blame for the cursed coins off to his daughter, exiling her, he basically used his new authority to degrade the standing of women in the kingdom's society, all just because he wants to feel superior to everyone else.

Tl;dr he sucks as a final boss precisely BECAUSE he's literally a nobody who rode on the tailcoats of others to succeed. The only thing about him that's special is literally just "he's the father of a generational prodigy".
