I think it's more the fact that he still doesn't get that what she wants is to be appreciated for her skill, and thinks "Hurr durr, all wamen wonna merry". Even when his life literally depends on it he still doesn't think of her as someone worthy of respect.

Ok, so the battle between the start and when the dragon was summoned (until he threw that magical grenade really) lasted a bit too long for my tastes, as I said before. Most of it could be cut and would have made it all better. He was just being pathetic and it was being more cruel than punishing. Kinda like what most people do on bashing fics, their points kinda get lost in the cruelty.

But after that?
This chapter? This ending, specifically?
THIS was very satisfying.
