I feel it does though. Because his two faced personality has a reason to exist. He pretends to be a dumbass so he can get away with being impolite and ignore everyone, while focusing on his family and his work. Beforehand there was probably a justification it just so happens to be a oneshot.

I think it gives more of a reason for his feelings against her. Compared to the onshot flow maybe it’s iffy, but I think it allows it to be a bigger plot points later on and gives more to build off of.

It also adds more into why he doesn’t like her at the start, given that he’s struggling to provide for his family while she’s living easily.
