Option to preload next chapter

Especially in long strip chapters it always takes a while like 30 seconds for the next chapter to load.
It would be great if there was an option in reader settings enabling the loading of the next chapter in background while reading the current chapter.
It being an option and off by default, people could just enable it when they read many chapters at once or if their internet just isn't as fast.

As if people would actually turn it off when they don't need it. This will turn into a "check it and forget about it".
Generally speaking, requesting two chapters because you may read the next one is quite suboptimal, especially for a website like MD with limited resources. Think of people jumping from one chapter to another using the chapters list on the reader, or browsing and taking a look at the first one, or using random, etc.

Just use the data saver option instead.

That depends on the implementation, dynamic loading is generally a wide spread concept.
Just set it as off by default, make the setting reset on each new session or new title, make it preload only the first x pages while u're on the last x pages, e.g. that there's always a certain number of pages loaded ahead, etc... there are many ways to address this in a way that doesn't waste resources.

This used to be a thing a while ago, but it either broke or was removed at some point. Can't say when this it's going to be fixed or reimplemented.

Dynamic loading (along with progressive loading) is very widespread indeed, as it does the exact opposite of what you're asking : only loading resources that are asked for when they're asked for. You say there are many ways to address this, but none that you enumerated is any good, especially when you consider the edge cases. In fact your own case is one of them, where you can have long strip chapters with very few but heavy images.

Again, just use the data saver option.

Dynamic loading is indeed a quite wide spread concept, but only for half-loading single chapters.
It would preload the next few pages of only the current chapter.
Not of a different chapter, much less a whole chapter.
Wherever did you found a manga reading site in which the site would preload the next chapter?
It sounds like a total waste of resources.
