The Orc King is a gentleman and scholar. Never judge a book by it's cover, right?
Maybe too much of a nice guy to be true. You can't become a so successful sovereign just by being so wholesome. I'm pretty sure we're gonna discover his dark side soon... :thonk:

Ah, man. I hope not. He seems like a benevolent ruler. A ray of light in a dark world.

It is a very uninspired choice to make the King a more capable military commander than the Elf who has fought for at least 120 years as an officer. But she is a woman, I guess. And this is a Japan insert.

Okay so elfs are not born and the orks only have a baby every 10 years. Man war would kill them off in the long run. Like humans and other races would just out breed them in a war.

Gustav was also a veteran, wasn’t he?
Dineru said he started building the country after the battle where she also fought.

The orcs would celebrate if they could have even a single baby born in a decade
They maintain their population because they’re so damn hard to kill.

But in addition to their long age, there’s their glutton, so nature probably made the choice to keep balance.

So how do they get more dark elves if they just pop out under a tree or something

he also wages war, already shown the factory for the cannons and making the dar elves his new cavalry soldiers.
He looks benevolent, but at least we can say he isn't naive.

also long monologue by the elf leader and not subtle at all that she wants some Gustav action hahaha.

There was the mention of them trying to grow silver trees in their new land.
Considering that the light elves made it a core objective in their genocide to cut down the silver trees, I assume that these are the trees that magically birth dark elves.
Maybe they brought saplings or even are trying to transplant some. Or more realistically, they brought younger/smaller silver trees that are no longer saplings but still not grown enough to birth dark elves (simce the grown enough ones would've been too large to bring across the water crossing safely.

Wow Beleriant. How original of a name. Surely not a reference to Beleriand.

Also having the technology FINALLY matching the architecture is a very nice thing. Actual civilization and magic combination.
9.999/10 because i fucking hate the fact orcs are pigmen.

The orc King feels like the second coming of Frederick the Great

Please, Please... don't f**cking shoehorn-in Isekai. This is perfect as it is... we don't need the Generic Japanese Office Man that reincarnated as a monster and even with his lack of intelligence, somehow knows all the nucs and crannies of being a political leader, merchant, engineer and warlord...

Edit: It literally has the Isekai and Reincarnation Tag. Sh**t!!!... Why can't they just make Fantasy stories? Why they have to forcibly add Isekai just for Self-insertion purposes? It was so close to be a perfect fantasy story with real world elements.
Yeah I was thinking that this was a really cool take on long lived vs short lived species.

Something like:
Elves: 800 years lifespan, technology progresses slowly but steadily from the start because it's easy to retain collective knowledge over time but hard for revolutionary ideas to take hold.

Orcs: 50 year lifespan, technology progresses extremely slowly at first but speeds up with each advance in preserving information for future generations.

120 years would definitely be impossible but I could totally see a young elf fighting a bitter war against extremely hostile orcs using inferior/stolen technology, focusing on something else for a few centuries, and then when they look up the orcs have developed a completely new civilization with with technology that completely outclasses theirs.

I could also see that elf being surprised by the diplomatic relations between orcs and other short-lived species. For them the war they fought against orcs (along with any other wars their nation got involved in over the last millennia) is something they personally experienced. For the orcs it's something they maybe have historical records of.
