I wonder if they're gonna address what the dark elves were doing when Elfind was busy making all these enemies decades ago. Dark elves are still elves after all, still a part of Elfind back then.

Light elves are still the one pulling the strings though.

Dark elves got drafted into military because their hunting skills, and the “civilised” light elves sees military as lowly job. They consider themselves more refined and prefer civilised profession such as in the field of art or bureaucracy, or even in trades they steal from kobolds.

The dark elves themselves seem more like a tribal hunter society. They don’t care much about things outside their hunting territory, as long as they can live peacefully and have food on the table. No need to get too involved with other countries, let alone flaunting superiority.

[Add] Assuming here too that they mostly just fight dark elves on battlefield, in which case that’s just war.
Whereas in the case of the light elves, they are enjoying racial cleansing and making other race miserable for their entertainment. Burning down cities, hunting civilians. So it gets much more personal.

Just started this and saw the translator's earlier credit pages talking about stopping when the licensed release starts.

Just to give my own two cents, I hope that they continue translations, as the licensed stuff can take ages to catch up to the fan translations, and oftentimes ends up as an inferior version to what fans have done (Seven Seas, the licencee of this manga, are notorious for quality issues, and it looks like they'll now be switching to AI-generated translations to "boost publication speed"). Also, MangaDex doesn't prohibit translators from working on licensed series, so there's no risk of the work being removed on that end.

Would very much appreciate reading this manga as translated by fans who put the effort into typesetting, redrawing, etc. instead of being forced to pay a corporation that's just running it through an AI translation program with minimal effort. It's one thing if it's a fan doing that for free, but not a company selling it as a product.

There are 2 main reasons for that

1st- with the licensed version, the mangaka will at least receive some income.. fan-translation don't really contribute financially to them..

2nd- it's to avoid potential dmca.. you could never know these days tbh
