I'm not claiming that the Nazis invented the Mass burial. I am simply referencing something that most people would know from history class. I am simply referencing what the Nazis did because that's the most likely thing that someone would know about when it comes to mass burials.
Okay, I misread your intent, my bad.

I've been encountering people who only seem to view the world in relation to WW2 and Marvel movies and it's biased me.

It is said in chapter 2 page 51, new dark elf babies appear in inside silver-root trees. That's why the light elves cutting down all the trees is tantamount to a sterilization campaign. Basically preventing future generations of dark elves being born.
Yes, I know they are born from the silver trees but it doesn't state anything else. That specific part of what you said doesn't exclude the light elves, it said elf tribes.

It is because of people like that and the fact that this entire series is basically Fantasy World War II that I specifically referenced the Nazis when it came to mass burials.

As TruthBody said, Silver root trees are needed, but is worth to remember than in the mythical era (Dineru dixit) there were male and female elves but an isekaied/reincarnator person become their queen, that queen blessed them with otherworldly knowledge but also decreed that the elvish race must be only female.

we, atm, don't know what happened to the males, if they reproduced normally through sex or if always by means of the silver-root trees and if only females appear from the SRtrees or if males are purged at sight .
One thing is certain that something great had happened for the elves to become only women species and is dependent on some form of alternative reproduction to maintain a required numbers for their civilization to continue functioning.

Thou, it will be extremely concerning if they have the means to produce male offsprings. The elves are basically the DC equivalent of the Amazon if that's how the story is going to take it's direction.

If that's done, it would have to be done by a pervasive secret police, because as far as even Dineru (who was chief of her clan for a long time) knows, only females are ever born in the roots of the Silverroot Trees.

I think that what the Third Queen (the Reincarnator who became the Elf Queen in the Mythological Age) did was not only purge the males, but also set up the Silverroot Trees as a kind of artificial womb system, that grows new elves.
So before the Third Queen, elves reproduced sexually like Humans and other Demon Races, but after her, they can only reproduce via the Silverroot Trees.

Yes, I know they are born from the silver trees but it doesn't state anything else. That specific part of what you said doesn't exclude the light elves, it said elf tribes.
So what you're wondering is if the same Silverroot Trees (the same species of tree) can produce Light AND Dark Elves, correct?
That perhaps some difference in the environment (soil composition, or even the ambient magical energy due to a nearby population of Elves) will aspect a group of Silverroot Trees to produce predominantly (or only) Light Elves or Dark Elves?
Sort of like how the same plant can have different colored flowers based on the acidity of the soil (Hydrangeas being one of the most common example)?

Since the Light Elves in Chapter 1 cut down the Silverroot Trees near Dark Elf villages that produce Dark Elf babies, I think that the trees, once they start being able to produce elves, get locked in to producing one type of elf.

Possible, if left untouched then it will start to adapt to it's environment and due to certain unknown limitations, it will be forced to let go certain traits. I'm pretty sure it will be able to return to it's original if the ideal conditions were to return.

There's also the possibility of it being cultivated for that certain trait but I don't think the author has expanded upon what the tree can actually do and such. It's only known that children spawns within it proximity.

The trigger warning made me expect something much worse. I thought they buried the trees to suffocate the newborn elves, so I was mentally prepared to see the corpses of infants. It was still pretty fucked up, but the first chapter was very clear about what happened to the caught dark elves. It's a bit too late to put such warnings now, and they also act as spoilers, which isn't a good thing.

Careful bud. Historical evidence points towards the germans as perpetuators. German ammo was used and the dead had documents with them from after the takeover by germany. Furthermore, randomly stumbling over anything at Katyn is pretty much impossible, if you imagine the ass end of nowhere that is Katyn. Something to take into further consideration also the admission in 1990, that was at the height of perestroika, when the leadership did everything to score browny points with the west.

In short: The version you told is likely bs. Doesn't have to, but it doesn't pass the smell test.

edit: Libs mad. Better believe the myth that the Nazis just so happened to find a convient mass grave in the nation they invaded and commited countless atrocities in, I guess.
Man, what an incredible way to tip your hand that you're a tanky and thus an unreliable source for the subject matter at hand after a completely reasonable post, to accuse the libs.

ok its kinda of funny that due to the way the nations in this story is constructed, it makes the Danes look very evil

I never knew the Danes were so evil lol
Did you know Danes used german minors to clear minefields after the war?
And thats not even remotely disputed, but hardly anyone knows or cares.
There is a pretty unsettling movie from 2015 about this topic.

More messed up, since all of them seem to wear them. That's not neglect to retrieve, that's active effort to lose them.
Hence why I said roughly two steps further. Definitely a horrible thing. Not including the genocide they were attempting, and likely would have succeeded had it not been for the Orcsen.
