From page 30 of the previous chapter, it feels like it takes real skill to write 'Orksen' after continually writing 'Orcsen' numerous times prior to and afterwards. It's why I mentioned previously about the need of having master list of nouns for any given series -- especially one such as this that is so expansive with them (people, places, dates, objects...).

I’ve already moved the project over to a verified terminology list based on the official English and Japanese releases, so recurring names should stay consistent from here on. “Orcsen” is one of the easy ones—it’s literally the official licensed spelling.
As for the “real skill” bit: if someone wants to scrutinize every tiny choice that closely, they’re always welcome to put together and release their own version. I’m happy to fix actual mistakes, but I’m not going to treat every personal preference as a QC failure.

I really enjoyed the chapter, though, I am glad for the trigger warning because while my own studied prepared me for the content, I didn't expect a manga to actually go into such detail re: genocide and cultural displacement. It was quite refreshing to be actually be surprised by attention to detail.

I am wondering however, how this may affect the army and how they prosecute the war. The Enfanglia brigade are part of the orcsen army and if the orcs also find out about this, well... this may not be pretty.

I remember that the Silverroot Trees are revered by both Light and Dark Elves, and certain trees give birth to Light Elves, and others to Dark Elves (it's not clear if it's the type of Elves living nearby that determine which kind are birthed by the trees, or if the trees determine which type will live nearby).
And part of what the Light Elves did to the Dark Elves is that they cut and burned down all of the Silverroot Trees that birthed Dark Elves.

So not only have the Light Elves murdered all of the Dark Elves they could, and not only desecrated their souls so that they wander forever outside the cycle of reincarnation, but they also cut down all of the Silverroot Trees, their own sacred trees, that birth Dark Elves so that no Dark Elves can ever be born again.

Chapter 1 shows the Elfind Army butchering the Dark Elves of Dineru's village and cutting down the Silverroot Trees that birth Dark Elves.

So the Dark Elves in Orcssen have no way of getting new children? That's grim. Even for a long living race like the elves, to know that there is no future for your species due no new generations and over your numbers will dwindle and get smaller and smaller must be daunting.

Trigger warning assumes a reasonable lowest common denominator of people who will get triggered. Not people who see the warning and excited to personally check out how “triggering” it is.

Those Dark Elves are way better people than me i would've had every white elf man woman and child on the way massacred or burned alive, if they wanted the land so much they can become part of it.

He invaded because he saw them as weak and unfit to defend their own nation. Not because they are "evil". This whole war is, in the end, a war of conquest. It has some convenient moral ground casus belli, but those are a convenience, not a a prerequisite or necessity. Orcsen would most likely have still invaded if the light elves where all treehugging hippies with no interracial quarrels among elf types.

And the part of Why Elfind, where it’s personal.
Elves and the monsters are long lived enough that the hundred year of peace would feel like the inter-war period for human. When the news about war is spreading, the peoples involved are like “finally our long held wish will be fulfilled”. They’re just waiting for the time.

In a universe of magic, this can even result in undead problems down the line. Could be wandering souls unable to be reborn, could also be the local necromancers having a ready source of skeletons to reanimate.

It is said in chapter 2 page 51, new dark elf babies appear in inside silver-root trees. That's why the light elves cutting down all the trees is tantamount to a sterilization campaign. Basically preventing future generations of dark elves being born.

She was provoking them to die. Death was preferable to the long list of things that could be done to her.

This is likely a reference to the 1940 Katyn massacre: After the Soviet invasion of the Eastern half of Poland (while the Nazis took the Western half) over 20,000 Polish military and police officers, border guards, and intelligentsia were rounded up, executed and buried in mass graves by the NKVD.
It was actually discovered by the Nazi after they broke their Non-Aggression pact with the Soviets, and used it to discredit them after the Allied Powers reluctantly accepted them. The Soviets blamed the Nazis, and continued to deny being responsible until 1990, by which point they and later Russia go "Everyone involved is dead, so no further investigation or cases."
I've already noticed the White Elves uniforms look like the uniforms of the Russia Empire/Soviet Union, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's the direction they take.

Seeing as the story takes place around the fictional 1870's, I think it's more likely a reference to the Circassian genocide.

As TruthBody said, Silver root trees are needed, but is worth to remember than in the mythical era (Dineru dixit) there were male and female elves but an isekaied/reincarnator person become their queen, that queen blessed them with otherworldly knowledge but also decreed that the elvish race must be only female.

we, atm, don't know what happened to the males, if they reproduced normally through sex or if always by means of the silver-root trees and if only females appear from the SRtrees or if males are purged at sight .
