I suspect that she expected him to cut the magic circles, and set it up to display to the others what he can do. Akane is a coward with supernatural powers of perception, she isn't going into battle without knowing exactly what the opposition can do, and with certainty that she will win.

This is cartoonish trash one way or another but these ""realistic"" commanding structures really make very little sense in a world where singular people have the power of a thermo nuclear warhead
Why let thousands of your men die when the commander could wipe out half the enemy force in an instant
Even if you tried to argue some shit about how one nuke going in would make the enemy nuke join too, THAT WOULD BE THE END RESULT ANYWAY
AS SOON AS YOUR GOONS GAIN THE UPPER HAND AND FORCE THE ENEMY LEADER TO GO IN THEY GET WIPED OUT TOO

We actually had, and sometimes still have; a problem in Warhammer games when an edition or faction turns hero or character units into steamrollers. And the solution was always similar: bring your own uber-hero, keep them "tar pit-ed" (send goons their way who won't die too quickly) or lead them away so their contribution in battle becomes zero or avoid them like the plague and win an strategic victory (objectives, victory conditions, secondary objectives, etc...).

With these people who manga love to bring up, the first and second option seem more feasible. But this is an action manga so an uber-powerful character who does nothing is boring and these tactics are not always brought up.

There's something...."romantic" in the enemy general sending a dumbass to get his ass handed just so the other dumbasses under him might become reasonable

Well, they have their own reasons to avoid ”nuking” each other, as silly as they might seem, but if that pisses you off, wait for chapter 78, I think many will blow a top with what will happen then.

Nobody seems to care how hundreds of demons have already died. Not even the demon princess. I guess that's a cultural trait for the demons. It also explains why the heroes killing a bunch of demons back then didn't seem like a big deal. I'm not sure what the demons care about, in the end. Maybe only their own pride?
