To me it's because of how free and cheap it is, you get to remove a character that won't need to build character development down the line, it gives shock value, and let you get reactions from at least 1 or more related characters to get the plot going, it's so free we're literally getting 3-4 birds with 1 stone in this one chapter.Honestly, just feels like shock value for the sake of shock value. Like they realized they hadn't been edgy in the backstory yet so they threw in an underaged girl being SA'd and tortured for the sake of having something dark. There are so many ways they could've done this, and it just feels so cheap at this point. I'm not sure why slop-sekai authors have such an obsession with SA, but it's quite frankly getting annoying to see them throwing it around so often.
You know....if they never gets the bandit then it's either a strong bandit (which tbh will be hunted by the empire) or the patrol themselves.....tho i might be reaching, but tbh it's not even that high with the empire history and whatnotPoor lass to suffer before her death. did they ever get the bandits who did that.. and gave them a slow death?
