but how would you suggest they help him in that scenario?

there could be other ways to gather eyes to their brother. but they are pressed for time given where hikaru spawned at and could only pick the fastest option available

and it did succeed just with a horrible unexpected side effect when "literally god" most likely to for own amusement added a messaging feature

in that situation
under stress of their friends death,
under fear that hikaru could die,
pressed by limited time,
what else could they have done that was just as fast and effective?
