If she survived the first stung, they should've let her get stung again. How else would she know when allergic?

Unless she already does. I don't know how people know they have allergies.

Yeah the logic isn't working here. The fact that she had an allergic reaction in high school means she had already developed the allergy earlier, so having her avoid that sting would only result in her not knowing of her allergy, putting her at even more risk than if they just let it happen

IIRC it's possible for a person with no allergy for an insect bites/stings to develop one after getting
bitten/stung once.

Typically all allergies develop after that first initial exposure to an allergen, but in order for her to have an allergic reaction that almost killed her, it's almost a necessity that she would have to had been stung before at some point since while it's not impossible to have an allergic reaction on first exposure, it's very unlikely for such a severe allergic reaction to happen then
