honestly this would be nice if the said thing was a job,im also a part of a scanlator group just a proofreader though, just like what happened here the problem really lies with how much the scanlator picks a series but cant deliver what expected for them to do especially if they do haggle a couple of works that are really good.
this isn't, people literally do this because they like manga,
some people charge money but that's for you to support their efforts and if you care about their situation or not like kireicake's case where she has to take care of her chronically ill mother
yes and its on r/manga and i linked x or y reason because you could literally google kirei cake and it comes out the first search resultnot all readers have the time to search for answers why x(manga) stopped updating etc. and find it on reddit or other social media sites the answer they seek. The scanlator has the sole responsibility for it regardless of irl situation he had.
there's no time limit for when they uploads are supposed to be tho, this isn't a job, this is something people do at the side and may occasionally earn from through donos if anythingJust please if your a scanlator just admit if you cant do it give it up or just seek help from others to make things easier.
there are people who may do this full time sure and may be commissioned to scanlate(i know someone who does everything from cleaning, redrawing and translating and gets paid good money for it) sure but that's not indicative of every person in the space
and again there's really nothing in the tos for this to be considered a "fuck up on their part"
because its not, uploading your own translation of a manga is well within the tos of mangadex
