We know that she's being manipulated and is doing it to save her parents.
I'm pretty sure they might have implied in chapter 31 that Yumi is smart enough to know she'll have to follow Makube even if he's evil.
Either that or he fed her some narrative which convinced her to work for him.

Nice plan! You can also go into headquartes all in hero form and make him transform in front of different people not only in front of the last person who saw him before he lost his memories (Why would you suspect of that person?). The mc even has allies who work in that same association, they should know someone
