Wow. He should really have told the team leader that he and the healer are together. NOT telling him means it can be discovered out in the field, where the risks are much bigger.
And if the leader can't accept it, leaving the party when in town is OK, but what do you do out in the field?!
Wow. The stupidity ... (Aaaand yes, it's a manga, so this is par for the course.)

It's Netori if anything because the MC is the one getting the girl
How is ist netori? The team leader has never been together with the healer. He's just "pining for the fjords".
There's no such thing as "I saw her first, so I have dibs, even if I haven't said anything." Man.

Was the blessing coming from the goddess or did she do it on her own?
Interesting idea. These things vary. In old-school Dungeons & Dragons role-playing games, the low-level cleric spells didn't require active godly dispensation, but the more advanced cleric spells were given by the god of the cleric. So if a high-level cleric was in a "dimension" (or plane, or whatever you call it) where his/her god doesn't reach, then that cleric can't use high-level spells.
There's a variant Dungeons and Dragons where "Sauron won", sort of, and has locked out the good gods. So if you play good people, you're basically constantly hunted, and your clerics are much weaker than usual (no access to high-level spells). Really interesting variant, but sort of heavy and hard.

This isn't Neto- anything. It's a one-sided crush and a hidden relationship... Swear to god you all can't use terms for shit.
Anyway, "sitting down and having a reasonable discussion" proves to be the unusable ultimate skill, once again. Seriously, they're all adults... I think. Not sure about the short mage girl. Either way, Lin has all but secured the party's destruction by being an idiot. The idea that Lin even considers him dating Sophia as him "stealing" her from anyone is misogynistic and basically invalidates her agency in picking a partner, and I don't know if the story will ever actually address how gross it is for him to think so little of her. The best I can see happening is Lin 'gains enough self confidence' to stop thinking that he 'isn't good enough for Sophia' instead of recognizing that Sophia was more than capable of making her own choices in deciding who she likes. Cain 'liking Sophia first' doesn't mean jack shit, never meant jack shit, and will continue to mean jack shit.
You know what actually DOES suck for Cain? Harboring feelings for months towards a person who's keeping their relationship a secret from them. Not to say it would ever justify any negative actions, but it certainly would be more of a reason for him to be pissed off than Sophia 'daring to' date someone other than him. Cain thinking he's a "better man than Lin, thus meaning more worthy of Sophia" would be just as bad as Lin thinking he isn't, since he would genuinely just be objectifying her into some kind of trophy to be won through 'hard work' instead of mutual feelings. If Sophia ever liked Cain in that way, I think she would've been entirely capable of turning down Lin.
Another thing to note is that Lin appears to hold absolutely ZERO faith in the foundations of their relationship... He and Sophia have been dating for literal months, I believe, and yet he somehow thinks that Sophia would be so incapable of staying faithful that she would actually drop everything they had just because a "better man" showed up with feelings for her. Could you imagine being Sophia and having your partner hold so little faith in your fidelity? That would be such a fucking insult.

The story was apparently NTR all along, just with the MC being the cucker instead of the cuckie. I've been fooled yet again.
It's not. Sophia was never interested in the party leader, didn't know him any longer than she did the MC. Hell the MC is acting weird here, he knew her just as long and they got into a relationship. He only later found out his friend is crushing on his secret gf.

You’re totally right. This is one of the parts I like the least in Manga.

Often the male MC is both weak & possessive. Puts a girl on a pedestal: so high that he doesn’t feel “worthy” to touch her, but also doesn’t want anyone else near her either.

A common example is when he refuses to go to the beach because he doesn’t want other people seeing her in a swimsuit, even when they’re not even in a relationship. Sometimes he might feel guilty about this, but he rarely ever changes. And the girl will NEVER confront him about it.

EDIT: And I think this ends up feeding the mentality of a lot of readers who feel cheated if someone liked a girl first and she gets a boyfriend who actually shoot his shot.
