What Xaelath said, at the end of chapter 3, there was a message from MC-chan's big sister saying she found a way to turn MC-chan back into a boy.
Also, Heroine-chan was already saying "Maybe I would be fine if you were a boy" to MC-chan, which I don't feel good about.

Whether or not anyone in this forum thinks TS yuri is yuri or not, Japanese creators pretty much already reached their consensus years ago. Hence the Pixiv tag "TS百合".

Incidentally this manga is listed under that tag. I can at least express intense discontentment with the rest of you if this becomes het, but it'd have been a mistake putting it under that tag if it does.

Huh, I genuinely didn't know there was a specific tag for genderbent yuri.
I thought this was gonna be a bait and switch with MC just being turned into a girl to "heal" the FMC's trauma.
If they genuinely do the TS parts tastefully, this might be pretty fun to read.

Why put the girls love tag so early for this manga, the main protagonist hasn't made any big moves on the main heroine yet. nor has he decided whether he wants to return back to being a male. MangaDex can be a bit weird. I mean, people are already giving a full-on review on this manga in the comment section already. It's only chapter one. I mean, who knows?? love is love, and if the girl accepts the main character as a guy and they become a het couple, that's cool. If the main heroine is only interested in women and she still accepts Yuuri but only in his female form. Thats great too. Last, Tbh the main protagonist might want to return back to being male. All I'm saying is, let the story play out for a little while.

Hell, one of the modern classics is about aro/ace spectrum identities pretty fuckin explicitly (Bloom Into You).

IMO the worst part about this sort of ending isn't even that it's hetero. I have nothing against decent het. It's that if we spent the whole manga prior with a girl version of MC and gotten to know her and the couple as yuri... well, suddenly reintroducing her male persona to "get the girl" feels a lot like unintentional NTR. Queer-erasing NTR is the absolute worst form of it.

Conversely if we're kept in touch with her original "guy" self throughout the story through either shapeshifting or flashbacks, I'm much less bothered by this sort of ending. Especially if he is super likeable in his own right. "The author has a responsibility to sell the audience on any character they want to give a story payoff to" I think is a good rule of thumb.

That's seriously valid and I came to this thread to express the same desire for the story. Along with the usual "yuri shall conquer the earth" and all that. If had my way, most discussion on every forum on the internet would mostly be about yurification. (note for God: don't let me have my way, at least in this instance)

... though now that I think about it, wouldn't politics be a lot more fun and productive if instead of a bunch of old men in suits, it was all very gay anime girls? It can even still be the old men post-upgrade if they so insist.

The yuri genre helped me through a very dark period of my life. Both TS yuri and the classic non-gender bend type yuri. It makes me a little sad if it's not doing the same for them.
