To be fair, he did admit to causing a situation that was entirely good for the MC. I believe his life there in the "poor" group ended up being better then it would have been as the VIP, from the MCs POV. Not even counting the clean up the MC mentioned. He was asking for gratitude there.

Yeah, Liam’s whole character is that he’s too earnest to be a proper villain. Someone like Peter is more suited to a villainous noble role. Liam even scoffs at the idea of just lazing around at the mansion for 3 years (which a well connected noble should do) if he hadn’t been assigned hard labor with Kurt and Eila.

She's had everything she's ever wanted handed to her before, and the first time she actually offers herself up she gets told to fuck off and gets dragged out by maids. She views herself as perfect

She's been trying to sell him their ships many times before though. Even got some sales, their super dreadnought was from third factory. And she was absolutely using her charms to try to raise sales from their first meeting. There's some big time skips so I'm not sure how much, but ch 14.1 happened many years before this one.

That obsession seems weird and coming from nowhere. Especially, since it seems doubtful such a small county at the edge of the empire would get a dedicated sales person, so I'd expect her to also be trying to make sales in multiple other planets.
