He fattened up Liam's past life with misery, sure, but then he must have fed on him at the end.
So why is Liam still bent up over his past life and reacting to it?

I suppose we could say that he's just fulfilling his dying wishes (of being an evil villain), rather than holding a grudge?

Because of his past-life wife's betrayal, he will only sleep with his maid robot Amagi, and is turned off by fancy lingerie.

Because they have a similar air to debt collectors who hounded him, Liam has no mercy for space pirates.

MC negative feelings in his previous life were all eaten up, yes, but that doesn't mean his memories are gone, as he "returned" to life and started to think again the feeling built up again naturally.
And given as Guide wanted to feast on MC a second time is very possible that he left some on purpose to make them "regrow".
