Afaik the guide is an ancient almost immortal being. However, he has been getting progressively weaker over time. To the point that later in the story other similar beings who used to be way weaker are now stronger. He mostly survives by feeding off of negative energy aimed at Liam now, weaseling his way out of total annihilation.

To wipe him out would likely take a very long time, and a lot of gratitude. Maybe Liam could start a religion to praise the guide?

I feel like the combat this chapter was pretty hard to follow. Differentiation between the different mech suits and who the belong to was not optimal.

Hopefully some color will fix that
