Okay, since you guys aren't aware of what happened I'll explain it clearly. This manga has an official English version. It's up to 41 and has been for almost 2 months now. They have not done 42 and are quite slow about it - this manga was finished over 3 years ago so the official translators have been somewhat slow. The aggregator sites which are all pirate sites grabbed these chapters and put it up, but you cannot upload an official version on Mangadex unless you yourself are the official company for what I hope are obvious reasons (but if not feel free to go 'but I don't understand!' and I'll explain). Someone decided the wait was too long and did chapter 42 himself for us as a favor, and uploaded it on here. This guy is basically doing us a nice favor, he wasn't being a dick, nor was he skipping chapters. Nobody is going to upload the official chapters on Mangadex (you can't, you will get banned if you do). It annoys me to see people attack a scanlator (that's only directed at two of you) when they aren't aware of what's going on.

Mangadex deleted all the chapters because the manga was on the DMCA and purged. That means ALL the chapters WERE deleted at the time. Mangadex won't proactively delete all manga chapters in a purged manga if someone uploads afterwards, but you aren't supposed to upload anything at all. But existing scanlators will know not to upload the manga again. And certainly if there's an official translation, which there was, you cannot upload that. That I have to explain this to you should make you realize you have zero grasp of logic. Just admit it you had no idea the situation and just assumed that someone purposefully uploaded 42 w/o the other 4 and was being a dick about it. Admit you didn't read the last page. Trying to counter each DMCA take-down with a re-upload will overwhelm MangaDex.

The underlying problem is that many publishers see MangaDex bringing more costs than benefits. The benefit to publishers is that some readers are moved to buy a work after encountering it on MangaDex; the cost to publishers is that many readers simply substitute reading a work on MangaDex for purchasing it. (Some are doing neither; they would not read the work at all were it not on MangaDex.)

I suspect that the perceived balance cannot now be much changed. Some material is just going to be removed, and MangaDex might even fail. But the way not to have got here and the only way that publishers might be persuaded to tolerate scanlations was/is for more readers to be buyers.
