Best bookmark Ive had was either my metal one because it was firm and strong despite its thinness, or this carved wood one that just looked really nice but it was a bit thick in order to be strong, making it bad for the book bindings if you shoved it right to the bindings like you normally would for bookmarks, so you had to be a bit more careful how you placed it.
Ive used random paper as temp bookmarks but they are too flimsy, and even plastic ones have been just a tad flimsy for my taste.

Never tried a glass one. Also never plan to try a glass one. That just sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.

Can confirm, I am not able to recognize faces. Usually identify people via tone of voice (which can change if people are in 'work mode' and focused on sounding super polite), glasses/jewelry, smell (maybe she puts on certain perfume at work) and hair color/style (easy where I live, maybe not so much if everyone has black hair and is trying to match).

Story still is makes no sense though because some of the most identifiable things is walking gait and habits of how people stand/sit while resting. These are super easy to identify no matter what and are really hard to miss.

Story fun though so we pretend it makes sense
