I don't understand why this FMC is still living with her trashy husband. She could just file for a divorce, then use those wounds to prove that her husband was doing DV on her. Like, what's the point of staying there if your life living with him is so toxic already, unless she's just waiting to be killed by her husband.

My prediction based on this author's past works:
Spoiler tags please. People might read those.
the amount of comments saying their hairline looks like Gomi shocks me????? I know the hair loss hormone is a man's chemical. There are ways of stopping to lose that hairline like take better care of your scalp
I've heard of male baldness truthers but this is the first time I've seen one in the wild. I really thought it was just TikTok ragebait...

Anyway, yes there are some measures you can take, but they're far from a guarantee. Most men will undergo some balding, and some are just going to have a lot of it due to genetics.

I like how it's getting worse and worse
I kinda wonder, whether her husband was showed the photos, or he just kinda guessed it.

I won't be surprised if this whole situation will turn into the scandal at work and both of them be fired

Thank you for the translation, good sir. We're spiraling down

Sadly when you’re in an abusive situation like that, it’s hard to see just how bad it is until you’ve escaped it (talking from experience unfortunately). v_v

I feel bad for Yumezora but reading the thread made me feel guilty over my minoxidil use when I was trying to grow a non-patchy beard lmao :meguuusad: I wish I could share some of my good hairline genes with y'all, bros
I am willing to trade half of my inch/mo beard growth rate for half of your hairline. Deal?

Idk why everyone keeps treating Yumezora as the villain of this story when the author has made it abundantly clear she is being driven insane by a life of endless abuse. It's crazy that readers are literally acting like the abusers by blaming her too.

Gomi might end up seeing her that way due to his underdevelpment, but it seems like the author is stressing that this is a tragedy. These are two people who feel trapped and afraid, and tragically can't do anything to help each other except cling for dear life.
I will also die on the hill that Gomi is a sweet and charming person at heart. It's painful to see him agonizing over not being able to go through with harming Yumezora the way she asks him and believe that makes him less of a man because he has no idea what's really behind the kinks.

You know what?? This is basically Japanese Blue Velvet, that's what this is lol

You get it, Soda. She's had trauma from being hit by her husband that its become a kink for strangulation. I don't see her as a villain but someone trapped and gone through a dark path due to life events.

I don't know if you know this but the job isn't exactly that well paid. I am sure she is with him because he helps pays for the moms bills. Some men do use money to hold the wife captive so they won't leave them. It's a tale old as time when you hear stories from women that are in abusive relationships. I suggest you look up studies about women trapped in abusive relationships.

Did she reveal the reason why she's still staying with the abusive husband in the current chapter? coz I don't remember she talked about her situation/financial issue (maybe I just forgot), feel free to correct me, or maybe link a chapter where she talked about it. (The only close to a financial issue was because of her sick mother, but iirc she didn't specify that "her husband is paying her mother's medication")

Also, I'm not blaming her. I just speak my opinion coz I really don't understand her nor her husband. If only the author reveals some flashbacks about them

People who have bad things happen to them are more likely to be bad people themselves. There's no smoke without fire, as they say. dysfunctionality tends to cluster.
It's the same reason why , if you find out that someone was abused as a child or was in an abusive relationship, it's probably best for you to steer clear of that person or not trust them because they're more likely to be untrustworthy or mistreat other people in turn. "Abuse victims" are more likely to be bad people than non-abuse victims. That's just a cold , hard FACT.

another behavioural genetics fact. most complex personality traits are 50% heritable , so people who had good upbringings with nice, stable, loving parents are more likely to inherit those genes that cause nice, stable loving behaviour when they are adults, while people who had bad upbringings with bad parents are more likely to inherit those bad genes that cause them to be bad people when they're adults.

Why is he hotter with his hairline receding? :worry:

Deadass hard agree he does look good, it's just that his usual hairstyle is ass, but he can be conventionally attractive I think.

Also I love/hate this manga, I really thought it was gonna be pure doom, but now I'm left having a tiny sliver of hope that maybe, just maybe, they can both be each other's salvation. I'm 80% certain that hope will be destroyed, but fuckk I'm enjoying this.

This has the potential to be very heart-warming...

But we all know it's going to end up dumb as fuck.

Lol a eugenics apologist in your manga comments section? More likely than you'd think I guess!

I have a degree for and work in the mental health field and my husband does literal neuroscience research regarding criminality. I promise you don't understand the way genes influence behavior, or you wouldn't be able to say something that reductive with that much confidence.

You don't even need any specialized education to not be so unbelievably cynical. It's not hard to find an example of extremely kind people who grew up in terrible environments, like it isn't hard to find insufferable people born to wonderful parents. Genes have a million variables other than who your parents were.

I don't think it needs to be said like it would feel strange for an author to "spoon feed" all of the reasons behind their actions and think the audience is dumb not to get it........... It's a psychology manga. I think its hinted and a not uncommon thing about women trapped in abusive marriages.
