@SuperOniichan iirc, 80's or even earlier advertisement campaign of KFC in Japan, for Xmas holidays, featured a bucket of chicken and a cake to celebrate the day. It's now a cliche tradition that features in a lot of mangas and animes, sometimes to poke fun, other times remembered warmly. I forget which but some mangas/animes have had jokes by loners/singles who lament having to spend another xmas alone with a cake/bucket of chicken.

@SuperOniichan Japanese KFC is really good, too. I'm not sure why—maybe they use chickens that were raised better, so the meat tastes better—but I was surprised at how good it tasted when I ate at one in Japan. They also didn't have biscuits, they had french fries instead and those were really good as well. Went back a few times during my stay it was so good!

@manabi I've noticed that the Japanese generally do a lot things better than the other. For example, I was once get a Coca-Cola with rare Japanese flavors and it was literally WOW.
