I don't think the denseness of a main character has irked me anywhere near as bad as the denseness of this one has. Fucking hell.
It's a miracle the floor under him is not collapsing.

It's been ages since the story went back to it, but the ML has a long history of watching every girl fall for his buddy and even use him to get to the other dude. The notion that there's anyone into him is, as a result, completely alien to him. The fact that circumstantial evidence early on points him to the conclusion that both of those two girls are also into the friend doesn't help matters at all.

Oh for sure, although there's some (reasonable) denseness there, I moreso mean the whole "They all look good on you" and "It looks really cute" bit.
He had the issue plainly and clearly presented and still couldn't use that knowledge to connect any dots to anything that happened during their trip, as though the concept of context doesn't exist for him
