The problem with this entire series is the MC ends up being...noncommittal at the end - I've seen some of the raws and the novels also dovetail in this manner. I don't know if it's a Cultural thing or what, but the majority of manga with a major romance element seem to end that way.

The bitch comes along thinking that she can have him beg her to untie him, oblivious of the pocket knife he is using to cut the ropes. When he gets free of the ropes, the bitch throws a fit as the MC starts walking away, where she falls down a hill.
End of currently released raws that I could find. Of course the MC will try and save the bitch during the fall in the next released raw, and that will very likely be the cause of why he won't be there for his girl.

Is that you're still stuck with the WN ending, the author continued the story after this got published as LN and it got a 2nd volume, everything that was left hanging from the og WN ending (which is covered in Vol.1), was resolved in the 2nd LN volume, but obviously that depend if the manga go further and cover LN vol.2

I read the spoilers and the MC is just a piece of wet cardboard who continues this same song & dance for the entire run. Doesn't tell the ex to pound sand, defend himself, nor does he commit to the obviously more healthier relationship. On the small chance there is a satisfying ending towards the far far end of this, it's not worth trudging through a series & a half for it
