I wondered why I always just kind of inherently liked Hinaki. And then I realized it, she's got some of that Botan appeal to her:

Shunsuke’s and Hinaki’s relationship are more sibling-like than friends. Hinaki shares an umbrella with him, takes a bath at his place, and lays around his room in loungewear… and the man is completely unfazed. Even in a previous chapter he sees her panties and doesn’t care. He’s pretty much immune to all the rom-com tropes.

However, the moment he mistakes her for Kiyoka he gets hot and bothered.

I’m hoping there will be more tension between the trio because Shunsuke loves Kiyoka, Kiyoka is becoming more aware of loving Shunsuke, and Hinaki displays every quality of loving Shunsuke without saying it’s love. Each of them have their own unique problems but Kiyoka and Hinaki have more interesting plot to uncover.

Hinaki is smart. She knows that Shunsuke is feeling off, and she knows it probably has something to do with Koiwai. After all, he's going home early with her! So as a good friend, here she is, ready to talk things through with Shunsuke!

Shunsuke seeing Koiwai wake him up instead of Hinaki is funny. But it also shows just how much she's in his mind. I hope things can get fixed soon for Shunsuke and Koiwai, so it's not just in the mind where Shunsuke sees Koiwai!

If there's anything positive at all about Shunsuke I could say in this chapter, is that compared to other typical protagonists he's not flustered at all by the sight of a half-dressed Hinaki about to enter his bathroom. Although the simplest explanation for that is that right now she's more like a sister to him than a love interest. Exactly the same explanation why Hinaki is perfectly fine at being seen half-dressed and taking a bath at the home of a boy who's neither her family nor her lover.

I know Hinaki can be heavy handed at times, but don't tell me she's going to blab on Kiyoka about Shunsuke's feelings for her just to get this over with. The expectation is that Kiyoka will deliver the rejection that Shunsuke was previously prepared to accept, so that he can finally move on from his feelings.
