I cannot help but feel like Hinaki is just third wheeling cause kiyoka feels bad at excluding her, Shousuke was even willing to skip her birthday.

The series tries to balance their friendship and his romance...

But its not there, the romance won. Hinaki conclusion was that she was ok being alone so the audience doesnt feel bad for her.

Shousuke isnt really that interested in keeping their friendship as he is on furthening his romance. Which is what Hinaki feared. And they are only 'ok' cause Kiyoka is willing to include her.

I respect a lot that Hinaki was kept 'aromantic' till the end tho.

Wtf is this. Hinaki never tell she loves Shunsuke at all until the end. I know aromantic is her thing, but man, isn't it obvious that she love him.

This isn't balance at all. I can't support Hinaki at all here. Kiyoka just winning too much. And she love MC now after Hinaki self destruct telling about MC feeling.

I can't say it open ended. The end 100% MC will marry the one he love, and keep childhood friend just as friend. Hinaki either just accept it because Kiyoka also her friend or she realize her feeling are love and too late for that.
